2. Westpreußisches Dragoner-Regiment

These are Calpe metal figures representing the 2. Westpreußisches Dragoner-Regiment under Oberstleutnant von Woiski, serving in GM von Treskow II's 1. Brigade of the Reserve-Kavallerie. Flags are by GMB.

IR 6 [1.Westpreußisches]

Here is my first unit of Prussian infantry using Perry plastic figures. This is IR 6 [1.Westpreussisches] under the command of Oberstleutnant von Kemphen. They served in I Corps of Hans Ernst Graf von Ziethen, 2 Division under Otto Karl Lorenz von Pirch II.

This unit was painted for me by Leuthen Studios.

Christmas Morning

December 24th, 2011

Reading Room

My present from Lindsey was this amazing revolving book case, complete with reading top and magnifying glass.

Boxing Day, 2011

My interest in Colonial gaming moves apace. Apart from several new lead orders, I've decided to make some additions to my library, mostly works on the Indian Army and the NW Frontier. Standby for Reviews and posts as these arrive.

Meanwhile, for Christmas, I was very pleased to get from my daughter Cate:

"Cavalry: Its History and Tactics" by the Captain Louis Edward Nolan
Thanks to son John, my American Civil War library also saw two new great additions:

"Shiloh and the Western Campaign of 1862" by O. Edward Cunningham
"Winfield Scott Hancock: A Soldier's Life" by David M Jordan

Brave New World

I have felt for some time that my original website and blog were getting very crowded so I have decided to try a new approach. My new Blog, still named "Horse and Musket" will be hosted here by Google. For now, I will maintain my galleries on the original site:

So to kick off this Blog, I posted some new images to my Sudan gallery (on the original site!).

These were taken with my Canon PowerShot ELPH 310 HS using the amazing macro lense on this very easy to use pocket camera.
