The 5ème Régiment de Dragons Légers Belges shown here, belonged to the 2e Nederlandse Cavalerie Divisie where it was brigaded with 6 (Nederlandse) Huzaren Regiment in the 3rd (Lichte) Nederlandse-Belgische Brigade of Majoor-Generaal Jean Baptise Baron van Merlen. The Regiment's CO was lieutenant-colonel E.A.J.G. de Merex. At Quatre Bras the regiment had 441 effectives in 3 squadrons. The Brigade was active along the French border and undertook a fighting retreat until arriving at Quatre Bras.
This unit was painted for be by Leuthen Studios using Perry figures. I particularly like the sculpting and painting of the nicely animated senior officer figure. The inter-linked silver circles on the top rim of the shako is very well done, and, quite historically accurate. The uniforms are very similar to French Line chassuers a cheval.
