1st (Royal) Dragoons 1815

The next unit to enter my new light box, is the 1st (Royal) Dragoons. This Regiment was the third of the heavy cavalry regiments forming Major General Sir William Ponsonby's 2nd (Union ) Cavalry Brigade at Waterloo where it was commanded by Lt. Colonel Arthur Benjamin Clifton.

The Royals are distinguished by the dark blue facings typical of a "royal" regiment, as compared to the 6th (Inniskilling) Dragoons who wore yellow facings.

The unit is based per General de Brigade rules and was painted for me by Carl Robson using Perry 28mm figures. Carl's work on the dragoon helmets is outstanding.

6th (Inniskilling) Regiment of Dragoons, 1815

Using my new light box, I have taken some new photographs of my Inniskillings. The Regiment formed part of Major General Sir William Ponsonby's 2nd (Union ) Cavalry Brigade at Waterloo under the command of Lt. Colonel Joseph Muter.

The unit is based per General de Brigade rules and was painted for me by Carl Robson using Perry 28mm figures.

I took the helpful advise of one of my readers, "Heinz-Ulrich von Boffke" and used a blue graduated backdrop this time.

The 2nd Dragoons "Scots Greys", 1815

Here are my Scots Greys, the 2nd Dragoons more properly called, in 1815. The figures are by Perry painted for me a few years ago by Carl Robson of Raven Painting. Basing is per General de Brigade rules.

I wanted to see how they would look photographed using my new Sanoto photo box.

I changed the background to blue and have reposted the images. I think they are an improvement.
