How Many Miniatures Can You Get in One Cabinet?

A very rare event in the Davis household: a cabinet empty of miniatures. No, they are not all sold. We just had a Spring Cleaning and polishing of the cabinets.

This is the contents of just one section of cabinet space. No reason the WW2 German aircraft are flying over Napoleonic cavalry. They just found a suitable shelf to land on!

Meanwhile it's fun to take a closer look at the contents. As you can see, I am somewhat obsessed by cavalry. Here you see the entire Heavy Cavalry Division at Waterloo, one figure representing 20 present at the battle, based for General de Brigade. There are a few extra regiments from different nations of the era, Prussians and a few Austrians

I have a very small collection of 1/72 scale die-cast aircraft by Corgi. They are excellent models, purchased off the shelf in this collector's quality.

Austrian Grenadier Cap 1813

In response to a TMP question, I am posting this image by Patrice Courcelle of the Austrian Grenadier's bearskin "bag" colour/pattern per the 1813 Regulations. This was kindly provided by a TMP friend when I was asking the same question.  The reference, and credit, is "Ceux Qui Bravaient l'Aigle"

Grenadiere v. IR 35, deutsch

Austrian Reserve Corps, Kommandeur: Erbprinz Friedrich von Hessen-Homburg Division: FML Nikolaus Graf Weißenwolff, 1813

I have imported images from my old Blog of my Austrian Grenadiers from IR 35 B Wenkheim which formed  the combined Grenadierbatallion "Call" (aka "Ruber") along with IR 36 Furstenburg and IR 42 G Erbach.

This unit fought at Croebern during the Battle of Leipzig, 1813, and was part of the Austrian Reserve Corps of Erbprinz Friedrich von Hessen-Homburg, Division FML Nikolaus Graf Weißenwolff. All three Regiments were raised in Bohemia and the combined Grenadierbatallion totaled 710 men at Croebern.

The plastic figures are from Victrix, painted for me by Leuthen Studios and based per General de Brigade. The yellow and black pattern bags on the grenadiers' fur hats were per the regulations of 1813.

With the Battle of Leipzig 200th Anniversary approaching (October 16-19 1813), I hope to complete the other two Grenadier elements.

Austrian Reserve Corps, Kommandeur: Erbprinz Friedrich von Hessen-Homburg Division: FML Nikolaus Graf Weißenwolff, 1813

Another gallery "imported" from the old site. They look much better here. Victrix figures painted for me by Leuthen Studios. IR 35 fought with the Reserve Corps at Leipzig, so an appropriate unit for 2013. They were part of an all-Grenadier Division.
