7ème Régiment de Hussards

Here is the 7ème Régiment de Hussards under the command of the famous colonel baron Jean-Baptiste Antoine Marcellin de MARBOT. The 7th Hussars derived from the Hussards d’Orléans and Hussards Colonel Général of the ancien régime. Colonel Marbot was wounded at Waterloo. The Regiment comprised 3 escadrons with 439 effectives on June 18th 1815 where it provided reconnaissance for Napoleon's extreme right wing.

This unit was painted for me by Leuthen Studios using Perry plastic French Hussars with the optional pelisse used in the assembly of the models. Unlikely to have been worn on campaign, it seemed fitting to equip this dashing unit in their finest for their last engagement.

"The Memoirs of General Baron de Marbot" by himself, make an interesting read. A true Napoleonic beau sabreur.

These Perry plastic sculpts are some of their nicest with extraordinary facial detail, lacework, etc.
